WP-Blog v1.0 – The countdown is over

Say hello to WP-Blog v1.0!

WP-Blog will make it easy to add a WordPress blog in your RapidWeaver designed site. Just add a WP-Blog page, configure the WordPress location in the page, configure WordPress for split blog/WordPress URL, publish and you are done. There is no need to make any adjustments or tweaks to the theme, as long as you are using a RapidWeaver theme that has been designed for v3.6 or newer. When you are done no one will notice that the blog on your site is not the built-in blog in RapidWeaver.

WP-Blog allows you to use many third-party WordPress plugins which is an improvment from my old tutorial which was limited in this area. Do note however that if you use a plugin which adds new fancy stuff to the page you might need to add some custom CSS in order for it to look good when it is embedded in a RapidWever theme instead of a WordPress theme.

The user manual has been published but it is not fully complete yet. I will be making updates to it in the coming week and as soon as I publish an update I will let you know here.

I won’t go into details about all the features as I have been blogging about them during the past months. Check out the WP-Blog page and my previous posts here, and of course the user manual to find out all about the cool things you can do with this plugin. And you can download it and play with all the features in the demo. The only restrictions are limited time for publishing and no settings will be saved.

If you decide that you want to purchase a license just head on over to my store, the price for a personal license is $12.95.

    Thanks for your help with testing this and some new PHP tricks you learned me during the development. It took a while longer that it was supposed to though 🙂

    @Mark
    Thanks! Currently I have the following plugins enabled in WordPress:
    Akismet
    All in One SEO Pack
    GS Star Rating
    Google XML Sitemaps
    Shadowbox JS
    WPtouch

    Roger, another thing. Is there a way to make the pages option in WP use the CSS in RW themes used for a standard styled text page for example?

    With WP-Blog it cannot currently be done. But you never know what the future holds 🙂
    (If you check around in the WordPress codex and do some handcoding it is possible)
